Our Screening Process

At Indigo Service, we conduct the business of finding, screening and referring personnel in a professional and efficient manner. Our Recruitment consultants have many years experience and are bound by a professional code of conduct that requires them to follow strict guidelines when interviewing and screening potential workers.

What we Do do …

  • We DO screen all applicants via the telephone in the first instance.
  • We DO require applicants to disclose personal information including previous employment, criminal history, and health matters that may affect their work performance.
  • We DO interview applicants face-to-face.
  • We DO check at least two most recent and most relevant employment references verbally. We do not rely on written reports.
  • We DO check at least one character reference verbally. We do not consider relatives as eligible referees.
  • We DO discuss applicants with other Agency recruitment staff to establish their suitability.
  • We DO require applicants to have a current “Blue Card” issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian for child related employment. Those who do not have a valid card must prove they have applied and sign a statutory declaration stating they are suitable to work with children.
  • We DO require applicants to have an Australia-wide Criminal History check (name search only) for general employment. Those who do not have a “Police Certificate” must prove they have applied and sign a statutory declaration stating they do not have any disclosable convictions.

What we CAN”T do …

  • We CAN”T personally conduct criminal background checks on applicants
  • We CAN”t guarantee workers’ performance on the job.
  • We CAN’T guarantee workers uphold the Agency code of conduct.
  • We CAN’T give industrial relations, taxation or legal advice.

For your own protection, our agency strongly recommends you arrange adequate Workers Compensation Insurance cover before employing personnel in your home.
